México. – Con la tradición de reconocer a mujeres que han sido pioneras o ejemplares en su área, Mattel creó una Barbie en honor a la astronauta mexicana, Katya Echazarreta.
Una portavoz de la firma juguetera en México confirmó que la jalisciense dará a conocer la edición especial, que no se pone a la venta, de Barbie Role Models.
«Me siento muy honrada de ser reconocida por Barbie como un referente de inspiración para miles de niñas y niños en Latinoamérica. Siempre he creído que no puedes ser lo que no puedas ver y es enriquecedor seguir empoderando a los niños a través de ejemplos reales», dijo Echazarreta por medio de la firma.
La edición especial-homenaje incluye a la muñeca hecha a su imagen física y con un traje espacial azul marino, con un parche que lleva su nombre y el de Space of Humanity, organización que eligió para el viaje, además de botas negras.
Aunque no están disponibles para su venta, generan impacto en el universo digital por las menciones y la conversación que despiertan.
Barbie Role Model es un programa lanzado por la popular marca de entretenimiento desde el 2015, el cual se hizo con el propósito de enaltecer a mujeres que reflejan virtudes de superación, academia y empoderamiento social.
