EEUU. – Spotify ha sido la última compañía en sumarse a la inteligencia artificial (IA). Y lo ha hecho creando una funcionalidad basada en esta tecnología que actúa como un DJ: selecciona canciones, las reproduce e incluso hace comentarios sobre ellas.
La tendencia de los gigantes tecnológicos de subirse al carro de la IA es ya imparable. Microsoft fue de las primeras grandes empresas en apostar por ChatGPT al invertir en la empresa OpenAI a comienzos de este año y después “renovar” su buscador Bing con la ayuda de la inteligencia artificial.
Google recientemente también ha presentado su alternativa a la ChatGPT, bajo un motor conversacional bautizado como Bard capaz de responder a los usuarios en segundos y de manera muy humana.
Ahora, la plataforma de audio en streaming Spotify se descuelga con esta herramienta que simula la función de un DJ. En realidad, es como si el usuario estuviera escuchando la radio musical pero la diferencia es que los comentarios son realizados mediante una voz sintetizada (según la empresa, la voz es «increíblemente realista»).
Para desarrollar esta herramienta, Spotify ha combinado varias tecnologías. Por un lado, ha introducido un modelo de generador de voz propio, desarrollado gracias a la adquisición del startup Sonantic, especializada en crear voces humanas mediante inteligencia artificial. Por otro, la plataforma ha colaborado con OpenAI para crear textos relacionados con las canciones que se van a reproducir.
Para crear el modelo de voz del DJ, Spotify se asoció con el Jefe de Asociaciones Culturales, Xavier «X» Jernigan, que fue uno de los presentadores del primer programa matinal de Spotify, The Get Up. Su personalidad y su voz calaron hondo entre los oyentes, según explica la compañía, por lo que su voz ha servido como primer modelo para el DJ.
Por el momento, la nueva funcionalidad de Spotify se encuentra en fase de prueba, y es probable que hasta dentro de unos meses no esté disponible para todos los usuarios.
